Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy Services

ABA therapy is a scientifically proven method for helping children with autism and other developmental issues. It uses the principles of learning and behavior to tackle real-life challenges. At Spektrum Behavioral Interventions, we provide ABA therapy services to individuals with autism and offer clinical support to families to help them navigate the challenges they face. Our ABA providers help individuals overcome daily obstacles, such as communication barriers or social difficulties.

Why Consider ABA Therapy?

Spektrum uses a child-led and play-based approach to ABA therapy. Naturalistic teaching and play enhance language, communication, motor, and social skills and boost academic independence. Simultaneously, ABA reduces inappropriate behaviors hindering your child’s learning or social interactions.

As committed ABA providers, the Spektrum team collaborates with parents and families to construct the best behavior team for your child.
Each team member operates within the child-led, play-based framework and can include:

Behavior Technicians

Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT)

Your child is assigned a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who oversees their ABA therapy team and collaborates with parents and guardians to ensure goals are functional and individualized for your child. Your child’s ABA therapy team will teach these skills through your child’s unique interests and play opportunities to ensure the skills learned at Spektrum are maintained and generalized to everyday life.

ABA Therapy Methods

At Spektrum, we recognize the crucial role of early and intensive interventions in supporting your child’s growth and development. Therefore, we constantly train and educate our team members on individualized therapy methods. We prioritize individualized child-led, play-based sessions that incorporate evidence-based interventions such as:

  • Natural Environment Teaching (NET) is a method that helps children learn new skills in their everyday surroundings. Unlike traditional ABA
teaching strategies, NET takes place in familiar places like the playground, making learning fun and practical. It uses your child’s interests
and favorite activities as tools to help them understand and develop new abilities, turning enjoyable experiences into opportunities for learning and growth.
  • The Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) emphasizes enjoyable daily activities, like games and fun tasks, to optimize learning opportunities. ESDM helps enhance social, communication, and play skills in a positive and enjoyable learning experience.
  • Pivotal Response Training (PRT) is like using a key to unlock different areas of learning, focusing on pivotal aspects like communication and
motivation. Instead of just practicing one skill, PRT connects various skills together, making learning more natural and enjoyable while tailoring it to
what matters most for your child’s progress.

Board Certified Behavior Analysts Role within ABA Therapy

Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) help by tailoring individualized ABA therapy programs and goals based on your child’s unique needs and learning styles. Our BCBAs collaborate with parents, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists, fostering a comprehensive and interdisciplinary approach to Applied Behavior Analysis. This approach facilitates your child’s ability to acquire and generalize new skills across all environments, therapists, and settings.

Your Child’s Day at Spektrum

At Spektrum, your child begins by joining a classroom group with peers of similar age and skills, fostering learning and play together. A typical day involves transitioning through various activities with their peer group. Daily activities address the 3 core deficits of autism and may include:

  • Circle time to increase social engagement.
  • Group and individual multi-step activities.
  • Sensory explorative play.
  • Fine and gross motor skills development.

Our naturalistic, play-based approach incorporates your child’s interests throughout the day. Spektrum has naturalistic, community spaces located within the center. In these community rooms, your child can engage in various imaginative play activities while learning about each space, supported by the Spektrum team. Our goal is to equip your child with skills to navigate natural community spaces like doctors’ offices, dentists’ offices, and/or a hair salon comfortably during visits.
